The Gardena Business Advisory Council (G-BAC) is pleased to present the Outstanding Business Award for January – June 2010 to GNBY – Ohana Grill.

GNBY, located at 1841 W. Redondo Beach Blvd., opened in 1997 as Gardena’s first coffee house.  Today, it is a full service restaurant with added catering services.  GNBY employs five people.  Owner and manager Lyndon Meighan is a lifetime Gardena resident and a past board member of the Gardena-Carson YMCA.

GNBY has sponsored numerous events in the City, such as the Gardena Heritage Festival and Gardena 5000.  It is also a supporter of several churches in Gardena, including St. Anthony of Padua, Gardena Buddhist Church, Gardena Baptist Church, and Faith United Methodist.  It donates coffee and gift certificates at church fundraisers and supports school fundraisers where twenty percent (20%) of the proceeds go back to the school.  Additionally, it is a supporter of the JCI Center and F.O.R. Sports (Friends of Richard Basketball League).

GNBY has received several awards.  Among these were:

  • The “Good Egg Award” from 156th Street Elementary School;
  • “Making A Difference Award” from the Los Angeles Unified School District;
  • “Focus on Achievement” Council Recognition from District 8 Parents; and
  • Cystic Fibrosis Sponsor Appreciation.

G-BAC extends Mr. Meighan and GNBY continued success as it continues to move forward in its goal to bring pride, business growth and economic stability to the City.
