The Gardena Business Advisory Council (G-BAC) is pleased to present the Outstanding Business Award for July – December 2010 to Midwest Roofing & Solar Co., Inc.

Midwest Roofing & Solar Co., Inc., located at 1305 W. 132nd Street, Gardena, CA was started in 1999 by Darren Tangen, one of the partners who grew up in Gardena.

Midwest Roofing and Solar is a roofing construction company that serves both residential and commercial customers throughout Southern California. Over the years, the company has earned a solid reputation for reliability and excellence. Its outstanding work history, combined with vast roofing construction knowledge, provided the basis for the company’s entry into the solar construction business. Midwest Roofing and Solar is eminently-qualified as a provider of state-of-the art solar panel and roofing systems. It recently completed the largest solar energy system in the City of Gardena, and its current expansion into the solar energy market helps provide a product that is “environmentally-friendly.”

In May 2010, Midwest Roofing & Solar Co., Inc. achieved the status of Master Select Contractor by GAF. Only one percent (1%) of roofing contractors has achieved this status.

Midwest is dedicated to the City of Gardena and prefers doing business with local companies. It employs fifty (50) people, and for the last four years has served on the Board of Directors of the Gardena Police Foundation.

G-BAC extends to Mr. Tangen and Midwest Roofing & Solar Co., Inc. continued success as it continues to move forward in its goal to bring pride, business growth and economic stability to the City.
