The City of Gardena Outstanding Business Award is presented semi-annually, to a business in the city based on quality of the business, business achievements, and community involvement. Winners are selected every six months, and nominations are reviewed by the Gardena Business Advisory Council.

Gardena First! What is it?

The Gardena First! Program promotes awareness to both businesses and consumers about keeping dollars in Gardena.

5% Small Business Credit Expanded

The Gardena Business Advisory Council recently recommended that the 5% Small Business Credit Program be expanded to apply to contract awards up to $250,000.

Five Percent Local Small Business Incentive

In 2006, the City Council revised the City’s purchasing policies to establish a small business credit of five percent (5%) to qualifying bidders for purposes of determining the lowest responsible bidder on certain City contracts.

Business Retention

Gardena believes one of the key components of any business retention strategy is business outreach. Gardena works with the South Bay Economic Development Partnership to conduct business outreach to a number of major employers in the City.
